Ossm
Prepare, install, verify, and recover OSSM or RADR firmware with the supported browser tools.
Use firmware flashing to recover a device or when Research and Desire support directs you. Everyday control does not require flashing.
Choose the correct tool
- OSSM web flasher for the OSSM control board
- RADR web flasher for the wireless remote
- OSSM BLE controller for browser control without flashing
- OSSM Funscript Player for local synchronized playback
- Gold Motor Programming Tool only for supported motor configuration
Requirements
- Desktop Chrome or Edge with Web Serial support
- A USB data cable, not a charge-only cable
- Stable computer power and an uninterrupted USB connection
- The exact device selected in the flasher
- Time to re-enter Wi-Fi or device settings if the installed image resets them
Make the machine safe before USB flashing
Stop all motion, move people clear, disconnect OSSM motor power, and connect only the control board or remote by USB. Do not flash during a session.
Install stable firmware
- Open the flasher for the exact device.
- Leave Mode set to Production (Stable) unless support supplied a specific development link.
- Select Connect & Flash and choose the serial port that appears when the device is connected.
- Confirm the device and installation. Do not unplug, close the tab, or let the computer sleep.
- Wait for the installer to report completion.
The flasher installs the stable manifest available at the time you run it. The page does not promise a version number; record the version shown by the device after restart.
Verify success
- Disconnect USB, reconnect the normal power arrangement, and restart with the motion path empty.
- Confirm the device boots and shows a firmware version.
- Reconfigure Wi-Fi or pairing only if the device requests it.
- For OSSM, confirm unloaded homing, minimum motion, and Stop before use.
If flashing fails
- Keep the installer open and reconnect the cable to identify the correct serial port.
- Try another known data-capable cable or direct computer port; avoid an unpowered hub.
- Close other tabs or programs using the serial port.
- Retry the stable image once. Do not cycle through development branches.
- If the device no longer boots or repeated stable flashing fails, stop and email support@researchanddesire.com with device type, displayed version, browser, operating system, installer message, and whether settings were erased.
