Lockbox Quick Start

Set up a Lockbox with BLE-first pairing, practice emergency access, and complete a short test lock.

This is the recommended first-use journey for a new Lockbox.

Before you begin

  • Read Lockbox Safety and Emergency Access.
  • Charge the Lockbox for at least 30 minutes.
  • Use Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop for automatic Bluetooth pairing.
  • Have the name and password for a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network available.
  • Decide whether you are self-locking or inviting a Keyholder.

1. Pair with Bluetooth

Follow Pair Your Lockbox. The automatic flow pairs the device and provisions Wi-Fi in one process.

Use manual Wi-Fi setup only when automatic Bluetooth pairing is unavailable or support asks you to use it.

2. Choose your role

3. Practice emergency access

While the Lockbox is unlocked, locate the device menu and review Software Emergency Unlock. Make sure you can also reach the hardware backplate instructions without relying on the dashboard.

4. Run a short test lock

Use Start Your First Lock. Keep the key accessible in the Lockbox, choose a short duration, verify the expected unlock path, and confirm that the dashboard and device show the same state.

5. Confirm success

Your setup is complete when:

  • the Lockbox appears in My Devices;
  • the device shows Wi-Fi and dashboard connectivity;
  • the test lock starts and ends as expected; and
  • both roles know how to request a break, end the session, and use emergency access.

If any of these checks fail, start with the Support Center.
