Clean, inspect, and lubricate OSSM safely, with condition checks and clear replacement thresholds.
Disconnect the wall supply and USB before cleaning, inspection, lubrication, or attachment changes. A paused controller is not a safe maintenance state.

These are conservative inspection intervals, not a substitute for checking before every use. Inspect more often after heavy use or exposure to dust, lubricant, or transport.
Clean OSSM
- Disconnect all power and remove the attachment.
- Use a microfiber or similarly non-abrasive cloth dampened with warm water and a small amount of mild dish soap.
- Wipe residue from external surfaces without allowing liquid into the motor, PCB enclosure, connectors, belt, or rail bearings.
- Wipe again with a clean, lightly damp cloth and dry completely before reconnecting power.
Do not immerse OSSM, spray cleaner directly onto it, or use solvents, abrasives, or high-pressure air.
Clean and lubricate the rail
Use the lubricant supplied with the machine. If none is available, use only a food-grade grease that its manufacturer explicitly marks compatible with linear bearings and nearby plastics. Contact support before substituting a spray lubricant or a product with unknown material compatibility.
Disconnect power and expose the rail
Move the carriage by hand only after all power is disconnected. Stop if it binds; do not force it.
Remove debris
Wipe the accessible channel with a clean microfiber cloth. Do not push debris into a bearing or enclosure.
Apply a thin film
Use a clean applicator to place a small amount in the inner rail channel, then move the carriage slowly by hand to distribute it.
Remove excess and test unloaded
Wipe away excess, reconnect power with the travel path empty, allow homing, and test minimum motion and Stop.
Repair or replace
Do not continue using a part that is cracked, bent, frayed, scorched, corroded, loose after correct tightening, electrically damaged, or unable to move smoothly. Do not operate after a belt skips teeth, an attachment cannot stay secure, a connector overheats, or Stop is unreliable.
