Identify scan results, connect one validated device, confirm control mapping, and recover safely from a failed connection.
RADR scans nearby Bluetooth devices when it starts. You can also choose Device Search from the main menu to scan again.
A scan result is not a compatibility guarantee
Connect only a model listed in RADR Device Compatibility. Keep it unloaded and verify the lowest output and Stop before use. Do not connect an “Unknown Device” to find out what its controls do.
Before scanning
- Charge both devices and keep them within a few metres of one another.
- Close the manufacturer's phone app and disconnect other controllers; many Bluetooth devices accept only one controller.
- Put the target device in its documented pairing or advertising mode.
- Keep the physical device clear of the body and ready to power off.
Scan and connect
- From RADR's main menu, select Device Search.
- Wait for the scan to finish and the device list to appear.
- Turn the right encoder to highlight the exact advertised name. An unnamed result appears as Unknown Device; cancel instead of selecting it.
- Press the right button to connect. RADR may show initialization, connection, capability-discovery, and ready states.
- Wait for the device-specific control screen. If the screen or control labels do not match the expected model, disconnect.
- At the lowest output, test one control at a time and then confirm Stop affects the physical device.

RADR controls one connected device at a time. Return to the main menu and scan again before switching devices.
If the device does not appear
- Confirm its exact model is in the compatibility matrix.
- Confirm it is powered on and advertising, then close any app already connected to it.
- Move both devices closer, power-cycle them, and scan again.
- If several identical names appear, turn off the other devices and rescan rather than guessing.
If connection or control fails
- Return every available control to zero and use Stop.
- Power off the target device if its physical output continues or is unexpected.
- Close other Bluetooth controllers, power-cycle both devices, and retry once.
- If it fails again, record the RADR firmware version shown at startup, exact target model and firmware, on-screen message, and actual behaviour.
- Send that information to support@researchanddesire.com. Do not continue using a mapping that behaves incorrectly.
RADR may remember a recent connection and attempt to reconnect. Never rely on reconnection as a safety action; confirm the screen and physical response after any drop.
