Clear a Lockbox locking obstruction, verify lid and paddle alignment, and know when to stop retrying.
E-Lock 1 means the Lockbox attempted to lock but its sensors could not confirm the locking paddle reached the locked position.
Treat the Lockbox as unlocked. Do not leave a key inside or begin a session until a test lock completes successfully.
Inspect the mechanism

- Remove the lid/backplate and key.
- Check that nothing obstructs the locking paddle.
- Move the paddle gently through its normal free movement. Do not force it.
- Reseat the lid/backplate so it sits flush.
- Attempt one unlocked test cycle.
The error clears only when the device reports locked and the lid/backplate is secured. End the test and verify it also unlocks normally before starting a session.
Stop and contact support
Stop retrying if the paddle binds, the enclosure or backplate is damaged, the motor makes an unusual sound, or E-Lock 1 returns after reseating. Keep the key outside the Lockbox and email support@researchanddesire.com with a photo of the mechanism.
