Understand the Lockbox safety state and cooldown after Emergency Unlock is used.
E-Lock 20 records that software Emergency Unlock ended an active session. It is a safety event, not a device failure and not evidence that using emergency access was wrong.
First: confirm safety
- Confirm the Lockbox is physically unlocked and the key is accessible.
- Attend to the reason Emergency Unlock was needed.
- Seek appropriate medical or emergency help for any concerning symptom.
- Do not start another lock until everyone understands what happened and the device is ready.
Documented device behavior
The current documentation describes a 24-hour cooldown after Emergency Unlock. The dashboard may ask for a reason, show the event to connected partners, or offer a Keyholder action that clears the state. Dashboard wording and available controls can change.
Keep the Lockbox powered and online if you expect a dashboard state change. Confirm the result on the physical device; a dashboard update alone does not prove the mechanism changed state.
If the state does not clear
- Wait for the documented cooldown to finish.
- Wake the device and confirm it reconnects to Wi-Fi.
- Check Online Status.
- Contact support@researchanddesire.com if E-Lock 20 remains after the expected period or the device is not physically unlocked.
Before another session
Review Lockbox Safety, communication, break settings, session duration, and emergency access. Change the plan that made emergency access necessary; do not disable emergency access as a response to using it.
